Lesson Overview:

  1. What is PCVS?

  2. What does it mean to Connect the Dots?

  3. What is Co-Design?

Q1: What is PCVS?

PCVS is a change methodology developed by Anthony M. DiGioia, MD. It focuses on tapping into the powerful experiences of patients and employees to inspire and drive change. By using co-design principles and tools, PCVS calls upon all stakeholders to reimagine and create ideal care and work experiences.

PCVS or the Patient Centered Value System is the newest operating system for providing the best possible care experience for patients. It gives patients a voice by allowing them to co-design their segments of care for providers to provide better outcomes both internal and external throughout a hospital system.

PCVS at a Glance

The Patient Centered Value System (PCVS) is a relationship-based approach to co-designing care that improves experiences and outcomes. PCVS bridges the gap between patients and providers. The phases of PCVS connect the priorities of organizations, leaders, providers and patients to turn powerful feedback into sustainable improvement.
